Poppy weekend May 24-25
PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will be out in force with poppies to offer to the public for monetary donations on poppy weekend, May 24 and 25. Members will be located at various businesses to help the Auxiliary Unit further their veterans work in the four nursing homes they support throughout the year. PRINCETON — The Princeton Boots vs. Badges community blood drive will be from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 29, in the Mobile Bus, which will be located at 2 S. Main St. in Princeton. PRINCETON — Logan Junior High School will hold its 93rd certification exercises for the Class of 2019 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, in Prouty Gymnasium.

LADD — Ladd’s villagewide garage sale will be Saturday, June 8. Maps will be available on Wednesday, June 5, at Casey’s, North Central Bank, Ladd Village Hall, Ladd Post Office, on the village’s Facebook page and online at www.villageofladd.com. New Bedford Memorial Day service
NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Royal Neighbors will host a Memorial Day Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the Greenville Fairfield Union Cemetery. The chapter’s deceased members will be honored, along with a Memorial Day address, music, Pledge of Allegiance, Gettysburg address and concluding with taps. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
4-H club cookout fundraiser
PRINCETON — Members of the Bureau County Open Door 4-H Club will hold a cookout fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Sullivan’s Foods. They will serve hot dogs, brats, hamburgers and chips will be served as lunch items. Bake sale items will also be available.
Ice cream social in Wyanet
WYANET — An ice cream social will be held Monday, May 27, at the Wyanet Memorial Park following the 10 a.m. VFW parade and Memorial Day services at the cemetery. The menu will be barbecue, hot dogs, potato chips, beverage, ice cream and cake. Proceeds will benefit the Wyanet Historical Society. The historical building, at 320 E. Second, one block east of the park, will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., during and after the ice cream social.
