A Spring Valley man was arrested June 5 on charges of dealing heroin.
Ryan M. Buck, 28, was arrested on complaints of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver more than 15 grams of heroin, which is a Class X felony. If convicted of the Class X felony, Buck faces a mandatory prison sentence of 6 to 30 years.
Tri-DENT agents conducted a controlled buy of about 0.8 grams of heroin on the 100 block of South Spalding Street in Spring Valley from Buck. He was taken into custody at about noon June 5. During the investigation, it was discovered Buck had more heroin at the residence he was living. Tri-DENT agents discovered multiple jeweler’s baggies containing purported heroin totaling about 18.4 grams, according to a press release issued by Tri-DENT. Buck is being held at the Bureau County Jail.
