WALNUT — Walnut Rotary Club President Tina Curtis announced the Walnut Cemetery Sidewalk Renovation Project has received a large donation from Pass It Along.
The Rotary Club of Walnut and the Working on Walnut Sports and Recreation Committee, have received a large donation from Pass It Along to help offset the expense of the project. The organizations have been coordinating the completion of a new sidewalk from McDonald Street to the Walnut Cemetery. The project began in April of 2018 and is now in its final stages of completion.
Josh Egan, spokesperson for the WOW subcommittee, said: “The Working on Walnut Sports and Recreation Committee is proud to be a part of this project, which is the first stage of the Walnut Multi-Use Trail. The construction of the initial phase would not have been possible without the generosity of Pass It Along.”
Rotarian Carl Von Holten added: “Our club has been pleased to partner with WOW by expanding a portion of the sidewalk to a width 10 feet to accommodate the trail’s passage through this portion of Walnut. We deeply appreciate the cooperation and financial backing of the Committee and Pass It Along, as well as everyone else who so selflessly contributed to the project.”
