PRINCETON — Mary A. Miller, 95, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at Liberty Village/Manor Court in Princeton, surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born Dec. 14, 1923, to the late John and Marie (Kinitader) Falkowski in Augsburg, Germany. She moved to the states with her family when she was 6 years old. The family moved to Geneva, and she graduated from West Chicago High School. She married the late Glenn Miller on Oct. 17, 1942, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Chicago.
She worked at Ball Horticultural Company and Mooseheart, both as a secretary, before settling into her position at the DuPage County Highway Department, where she worked from 1959 and retired in 1987. She was a member of St. Louis Parish in Princeton.
Mary enjoyed reading, cooking, serving meals, and loved entertaining her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and hanging out with friends and family.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Diane (Don) Evans of Princeton; one son, Robert (Linda) Miller of Springhill, Kan.; three grandchildren, Kyle (Megan) Evans of Princeton, Brian (Ginger) Evans of Yorkville and Kevin Miller of Springhill, Kan.; four great-grandchildren, Parker, Chase, Morgan and Cody; one brother, Hubert Falkowski of Aurora; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Miller, in 2007; and two brothers, Sig Falk and Erwin Falkowski.
A visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Assumption Cemetery, 1 S. 510 Winfield Road in Wheaton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church for religious education.
