Dale and Darlene Dionne will celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dionne of Granville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dale Dionne and the former Darlene Thiel were united in marriage Aug. 16, 1969, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Schererville, Ind., by the Rev. Father Shank. The maid of honor was Judy Mulder, and the bridesmaids were the late Pat Thiel, Judy Stanford and Alice Thiel, and the junior bridesmaid was Debra Thiel. The flower girls were Penny Dionne and Jeanine Thiel. The best man was Ron Curby. Groomsmen were the late Les Mulder, Dennis Thiel and Donald Tebo, and the junior groomsman was Brad Bourdeau.

The couple are the parents of four daughters, the late Darla (Brian) Gibson of Princeton, Deanne (Monte) Flack of Urbana, Dawn (Dan) Cioni of Granville and Devin (Brian) Fenza of Peru. They also have 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Megan, Abby, Amber, Nathan, Haley, Caitlyn, Carter and Reese.

Dale worked in transportation and management, and retired from Estes Trucking Co. Darlene, also retired, was self-employed. She was also the owner and operator of Creative Cakes by Darlene. She was also an EMT with 10/33 Ambulance Services. The couple are members of Sacred Heart Church.

They continue to live a happy life by spending time with family, friends and gardening. The couple will be honored at a family gathering in the near future.
