Parking change on South Main Street

Four parking spots on South Main Street near the intersection of Peru Street were eliminated by the city of Princeton last week. One day following the city council’s 3-2 split vote to remove the spots, the street department repainted over the parking lines and painted arrows to help direct traffic at the intersection.

The street department also repainted the parking lines in front of the Prouty Building to convert four diagonal spaces into two parallel spaces. A turn-prohibited sign was also posted in the alleyway between Kramer’s Kitchen and the Prouty Building, which now prevents traffic from turning south onto Main Street. The new changes were done on a 30-day trial basis. The city council is asking for feedback from the public on whether they agree or disagree with the changes.
